‘Managing With An EQ Approach’ targets Senior Executives and Team Leaders.
The purpose is to develop the people management skills of senior employees who are excellent technicians. They’re great at the ‘doing’ of their role.
It’s commonly recognised that as executives move up the corporate ladder, often the promotional process is based on how well they do the technical aspect of their job.
Organisations may not have invested in equal proportions into Leadership type trainings.
Being a great technician, and being a fabulous team leader are two different skill sets.
For any organisation that is striving to build their attractiveness to employees as ‘employer of choice’, ensuring a competitive advantage through talent attraction/retention, it is prudent to invest in developing the organisation’s key people into EQ leaders.
The results of the ‘Managing With An EQ Approach’ Training is that it enables managers & leaders to successfully adopt and use an ‘EQ Approach’ in an authentic way for them.
This can be measured by:
• Each Team Leader will demonstrate ‘EQ Approach’ behaviours as outlined in the program
• Team Leaders will be able to transfer their management & technical skills to their employees and colleagues using a sustainable ‘EQ Approach’ Model as part of their everyday way of operating. This will encompass such areas as:
o Performance
o Development
o Skills and Career Coaching
o Adoption of a ‘Common Language’ when interacting
o Creating WIN WIN solutions
• The profile of the Leadership team is raised, they are able to engage their employees in a more timely and efficient manner.

Personal Leadership & Responsibility Program
This training program is positioned at the teams and direct reports of those participating in the ‘Managing with an EQ Approach’ Training.
What has been regularly communicated by managers & leaders is that while they are benefiting from their ‘Managing with an EQ Approach’ training & coaching they see an unmet gap with their direct reports.
Employees are working their way up the ladder, while they are also navigating their work environment.
They are likely recently graduated from their tertiary education, and have anything from 1-7 years work experience under their belt.
There is an opportunity to support the development of their levels of emotional maturity, accountability & responsibility.
While most employees of all life stages would be aware of Emotional Intelligence, they also may not have the tools and practice to be fully integrated with it.
The Personal Leadership & Responsibility Program informs participants of usable tools & techniques they can adopt to how they engage with others in their work environment.
So that they demonstrate personal leadership and take greater personal responsibility and accountability.
Expected results from participating in this program are:
• Employees are proactive in providing recommended solutions for challenges presented.
• Employees are respectful of their team leaders’ and colleagues’ boundaries, and proactively manage their time and project management requirements, including respecting the time & availabilities of others
• Employees take responsibility for their outcomes, and hold themselves accountable for their performance & results.
• Employees adopt a more positive attitude and language, eliminating projection and acting out amongst their peers.

Everyone Is Your Customer!
Challenges that Team Leaders face within their organisation are the interpersonal relationships of their Team Members in relationship to one another, and also their Suppliers.
Team members may display an excellent customer service approach in a more traditional scenario where they see someone as their literal customer, and it can be a different story in other interpersonal scenarios.
The reality being in business, that everyone is your customer!
Team leaders commonly communicate a desire for their teams to demonstrate the same level of customer service to each other.
Recognising that while colleagues may not be your client they are still your customer – and that to obtain the best out of others it is necessary to be the best you can be yourself – working towards looking for win win outcomes rather than allowing emotions to rule and someone is either the ‘winner’, or the ‘loser’.
The expected results of this program are to bring your teams up to an exceptional level of customer service for fellow employees and suppliers, that reflects the values of your organisation.
This can be measured by:
• Demonstration of the individual team member’s capabilities in this area when interacting with colleagues, suppliers (be it over the phone, email, face to face in formal, informal meetings, presentations, briefings…)
• Demonstration of individual team member’s offering colleagues the same level of respect, and willingness to assist, that they also would like to receive – even in the face of challenges (people or situational).
